The Social Equity Movement with Moja Life
As cannabis legalization spreads across the US, social equity in the industry becomes more crucial. The prohibition of marijuana has disproportionately affected certain communities, and we strive to ensure equal opportunity for all through social equity. It’s our responsibility to hire a diverse team, with a focus on individuals marginalized by the war on drugs, and to provide social equity licenses that offer priority consideration for jobs, reduced fees, technical assistance, and low-interest loans.
Collaborating with Our Community
Another key element of social equity is judicial reform, such as passing laws and policies that help previously incarcerated individuals thrive. This can include easier access to housing and education, and clearing cannabis-related offenses from records. Additionally, we re-invest a portion of cannabis tax revenue back into communities affected by marijuana criminalization. As one of the first black-owned cannabis companies in New Jersey, Moja Life values these ideals deeply. We live and breathe them daily, striving to not only offer premium cannabis products, but also to be agents of positive change.
